3 steps to trouble shoot the loss of DSL or Cable Connectivity:

• After checking that all network cables are connected to proper ports, unplug the DSL or Cable Modem.  If a wireless router, switch or hub is being used to share the connection from the modem, unplug it also.  Wait 10 seconds and reconnect the power to the device(s).  Often an unexplained loss of connectivity can be restored by restarting the device used to connect to the internet.
  
  
• If restarting the networking device(s) does not solve the issue, try restarting the computer.  Services running on the computer may have stopped for any number of reasons – the easiest way to restart them may be to simply restart the machine.
